Portable Says He Bought A New Car After Online Drama

Portable is trending again - and this time, it's about a new car.

What he posted and when

On his own page, @portablebaeby, Portable shared videos and photos of himself showing off a new car. In one clip from July 19, he is seen in a camouflage tracksuit and bucket hat, posing beside a brown Range Rover Evoque, opening the door, sitting inside and holding up the key fob while shouting his popular line: "After pain na joy."

In another clip from the same period, he was also seen with a red Mercedes-AMG, holding bundles of cash and telling fans this is "the best of the best." All of this came directly from his own Instagram and Facebook pages, not from a blog.

He posted it right after fresh online drama around him - the same pattern fans know him for: drama first, then a big show-off post.

How fans reacted online

Reactions were mixed, as usual for Portable.

Many fans congratulated him: "Congratulations Zazuu", "Ika of Africa", "After pain na joy" flooded the comments.

Others were not so convinced. Some asked: "Hope you pay complete for this one, I no wan see you jump fence again?" Others joked about Range Rover wahala: "Sha no delete your mechanic number, because Range Rover go show you shege."

Some also argued the car looked like tokunbo, not brand new, while his loyal fans defended him and said haters are just jealous.

Why he stays in the news so often

Portable stays in the news because he never goes quiet. One week it's a fight with a baby mama or a car dealer, the next week it's a new car, a new song, or a video of him spraying money in Sango Ota.

He knows how to turn drama into attention, and attention into gist. Love him or hate him, once Portable posts, Nigerians will talk.
