Kenya Police finally get first win of the season

Kenya Police FC finally have a reason to celebrate after recording their first victory of the 2026/27 season with a 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars in the FKF Premier League on Thursday at Police Sacco Stadium.

The result came as a relief for the law enforcers, who had struggled to find their rhythm in the opening matches of the campaign. Elvis Rupia proved to be the difference between the two sides, scoring the only goal in the 23rd minute to hand his team three important points.

Goalkeeper Job Ochieng also played a key role in securing the victory. He made an important second-half save to deny Ulinzi Stars an equaliser and helped Kenya Police keep a clean sheet.

##Why the First Win Matters

The Kenya Police first win is an important step for a team that has been under pressure to deliver better results.

Before Thursday's match, Police had managed a 1-1 draw against Migori Youth before losing 2-1 to AFC Leopards. Those results made it important for the team to respond, and the victory over Ulinzi Stars has given the players a much-needed confidence boost.

Kenya Police have previously shown their ability to compete for the league title, having won the FKF Premier League in the 2024/25 season. They finished third last season and will be hoping to challenge for the top positions again.

##Anthony Akhulia Calls for Consistency

Caretaker coach Anthony Akhulia was pleased with the team's performance and praised the players for their hard work during training.

However, he knows that winning one match is not enough to guarantee a successful season. The coach wants his players to remain focused, work harder and approach every game with the same determination.

For Akhulia, the challenge now is to make sure the team builds on this result rather than allowing the victory to become an isolated moment.

Shabana Clash Next

Kenya Police will now turn their attention to Sunday's meeting with Shabana FC.

The match offers another opportunity for the law enforcers to prove that their victory over Ulinzi Stars marks the beginning of an improvement in their performances.

Shabana are expected to provide a difficult test, meaning Police will need to maintain their concentration and make good use of their chances.

Another victory would strengthen the team's position in the FKF Premier League and give supporters more confidence in the squad.

After a difficult start, Kenya Police have finally got their first three points. The focus now is on consistency, and the Shabana clash could show whether Akhulia's men are ready to turn things around.
