EAGLES ARRIVED IN RUSSIA
The Super Eagles of Nigeria trained in Nizhny Novgorod on 5 October ahead of an international friendly against the Russian team at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday, 6 October. Kick-off is at 19:00 local time.
The Russian Football Union says the match is the third and final game of Russia's current training camp.
The team hopes to bounce back after a disappointing outing against Guinea-Bissau in September, in line with preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says refusals by some clubs to release players, together with injuries, have weakened the squad the Super Eagles will field against Russia. The NFF named captain Wilfred Ndidi, who picked up a knock against Guinea-Bissau, among those unavailable. It listed 18 players in Russia for the game.
