DJ Khaled just made a lot of Ugandans very happy, and the post is still making the rounds.

What he posted

The American DJ and producer shared a photo with Juliana Kagwa, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, the agency that promotes the country to visitors. He tagged Uganda and wrote about love and respect, ending his caption with "Love is the only way!"

He didn't use one of his own hits as the soundtrack. He picked "Tubonge" by Jose Chameleone, one of Uganda's best-loved artists.

Why Ugandans enjoyed it

It doesn't happen often that a name this big says something nice about your country. Khaled put a local song, the kind Ugandans grew up on, in front of a global audience. Many fans took it as a nod to their music, not just a quick shout-out.

The post also showed how one share can put African music and tourism in front of millions of people, all from one photo and a song.

The reactions from fans and local stars

Fans and local personalities filled the comments with messages celebrating the shout-out and the love for the Pearl of Africa. Plenty of people simply thanked him for showing up for Uganda.

Then came the questions. Is Khaled planning a trip? A collab? Nobody has said so. Neither he nor the Uganda Tourism Board has announced a visit, a performance or a project, so for now it's just speculation.

Maybe it leads somewhere, maybe it doesn't. Either way, Ugandans got their moment, with "Tubonge" playing in the background.
