Why Grammy entry news dey matter

For industry people, submission na first gate. No be everybody fit enter. Your label go pay, submit your work, then Recording Academy members go vote first round from October 12 to 22, 2026. Official nominations go drop November 16, 2026, final winners na February 7, 2027 for Los Angeles. 4b09

For Asake, this na familiar road. E don get nomination before for “Amapiano” with Olamide for 2024 Grammys and “MMS” with Wizkid for 2025, but e never win. Seun Kuti self don taste nomination before — Black Times album with Egypt 80 for 2019 for Best World Music Album. 1283

So this submission na their way of saying — we still dey push for global recognition.

How fans dey react

For X (Twitter) and Instagram, reaction na mixed but loud. Asake fans dey shout say M$NEY deserve Album of the Year nod, especially after the run from Mr. Money With The Vibe, Work of Art, Lungu Boy. Wizkid FC self join for Jogodo, dem dey hype am as another shot for Big Wiz.

Seun Kuti own get different vibe. His fans dey praise the political edge — Na Dem and Problems dey talk about power, struggle, real life. Dem talk say if Grammy want real African music with message, na Seun be am.

But some music people dey also warn — make we no carry submission do like say na nomination. As https://notjustok.com remind, submission no be same as nomination. Voting go decide.

For now, na six entries for consideration. We wait till November 16 to know if any go turn to real nomination.
